SC refuses to entertain plea by Mayawati against EC ban for communal speech

Supreme Court declined to give a hearing to BSP supremo Mayawati, who has been barred for campaigning for 48 hours in view of her communal comments. “It seems the Election Commission has woken up by our orders and barred various politicians from campaigning for varying timing. This makes it clear no further orders are required now,” Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said.
