Transgender Cell opened by Delhi Commission for Women to protect their rights
The Delhi Commission for Women has instituted a Transgender Cell in order to protect the rights and interests of the transgenders while addressing their concerns. The transgender community is subject to immense trauma, abuse, discrimination and violence which the Cell aims to look into. The Cell will be chaired by Swati Maliwal who is the head of DCW. The step towards greater equality among people and understanding the concerns and emotions of others will create a healthier society with greater acceptance.
