The Bill banning the use of instant triple talaq is to be reintroduced in the Parliament as the bill could not be passed before the dissolution of the 16th Lok Sabha. Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the present government would ensure the passage of the triple talaq bill and added that it was a part of the BJP manifesto. The triple talaq bill was previously stuck in the Rajya Sabha where opposition members raised questions against it due to which it did not clear the required numbers. The reconsideration and reevaluation of the triple talaq bill will be welcomed by many women who have been subject to unfair and unequal treatment.
