A fresh, unwarranted, derogatory, and disrespectful remark made by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra towards V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, during a Lok Sabha discussion on reforms to the national examination system, has triggered sharp political and academic controversy.
While questioning the composition of the high-level committee tasked with reforming public examinations, Priyanka Gandhi criticized the selection of certain members, stating that the panel included individuals whom she claimed lacked expertise in education or medicine. As per the Organiser reports, in her speech, she referred to the inclusion of “a former information chief, an IT company owner, and even a cow urine expert,” without naming any individual.
