Why Tamil Nadu’s Hindus Did Not Protest A Call To Eradicate Sanatana Dharma
In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on 12 May 2026, Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin rose and openly demanded the “eradication” (ozhippu) of Sanatana Dharma, calling it a force that divides people. Not a single MLA uttered a word of protest.
On the same day, the Speaker shared his Church experiences and quoted Bible verses. again, silence.
In a state where Hindus constitute over 87 per cent of the population, the majority’s faith could be singled out for annihilation on the floor of the people’s House without so much as a murmur of dissent.
