Cow smuggling, running into lacs of cows, reached crisis proportions along the nearly 4,500 kilometer India-Bangladesh border. Smugglers have dug tunnels, they tie the cows to wooden posts which float as boats, they use bamboo to bend and shoot the cow to the opposite site, construction equipment which extends over the border and lifts the cow, and many other techniques. The border runs through land, flowing rivers and other difficult terrains and it is difficult to make it fool proof. BSF, our main security forces are spread thin. A recent video showed how in 2 minutes, using a flat sliding board, how 5 cows were smuggled to Bangladesh and 5 illegals entered India. At this rate, India could lose most of its cows and crores of illegal Bangladeshis could end up in India. BSF and security forces should be authorized with “SHOOT AT SIGHT ORDERS USING REAL BULLETS, NOT RUBBER BULLETS“.
Let us make it very very expensive for the smugglers and the smuggling mafia.

BJP was untouchable for some time before the 2014 elections. Then it got a respectable number of member parties and won ably. Since then a slow trickle has now become a flood of previous opposition parties and politicians both elected and otherwise wanting to join both the BJP and the NDA. This has already happened in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, and now with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, and former political stalwarts of UP. There are likely to more parties and people in more states. Is this principle, good governance, looking for a future – well you decide?

9.15km long, as of now the longest river bridge over the Brahmaputra river in Assam will soon come into operation. It will be close to the China border, only about 100 km as the crow flies, and can carry battle tanks weighing over 60 tonnes. So the bridge will help with critically needed connectivity in the North-East, in this case for Assam and Arunachal Pradesh but also to build up our defenses, which was long overdue. The next bridge over the Brahmaputra is hundreds of kilometers away in a region with large distances but limited infrastructure.

Shri Giriraj Singh, Member of Parliament (from Bihar) recently said that families of every community should be required to limit to 2 child per family. So why is that comment viewed and reported as controversial? In addition to population control leading to a healthier population, his comment should be viewed as a way to protect and preserve the social dynamics of villages, towns and districts. If the religious balance goes haywire, it could cause several problems as is being reported in some areas of West Bengal (Malda and other border districts), or Assam or Kerala.
