1 Crore households, easily 3 to 4 crore people have voluntarily signed up for PM Modi’s “Give it Up” of LPG subsidy campaign, launched about a year ago. These people have voluntarily “Given Up” the government subsidy on the 12 eligible LPG cylinders per year. “Give it Up” does not end there, the central government plans to use these subsidy savings to give FREE gas connections to 5 crore women of BPL (below poverty line). The BPL families use mostly kerosene or in some cases fire wood, both of which can harm the women who breathe these fumes.
