New York Times, Reuters, Le Monde and several of others are now claiming “authoritarian drift” and “violent clashes” in India as a result of the JNU agitation. As we all know neither has happened. However, by their silence are they justifying that it is okay to shout and even want that “India be broken into pieces”? Would these newspapers and their journalists shout and seek to allow such things being said?

Mainstream Media (especially English ones) who pass on unbalanced and agenda driven coverage have lost loyal readers. Technology has made matter worse. There are too many examples to note, but coverage of Godhara riots, India-bashing coverage by New York Times, the Economist, BBC come to mind.
