Last few days and weeks has seen a growing number of “reported” attacks on Indians in the USA unlike never before. A young and married Hyderabad origin computer developed was shot dead in a Kansas City bar in public view, while his good friend was shot but later hospitalized and survived. A long-time settled Gujarati businessman was shot dead soon after he closed his shop on Friday night in South Carolina, and then a Sardarji was shot in the Seattle area and asked to leave their country (USA) and go home. Per informal rumors, the community is talking of unusual questions being asked at shops about legal status, etc. Are these isolated instances or something more scary? Indians collectively are one of the most educated and well to do communities.

PM Modi was handed 200 precious gods idols and artifacts worth over Rs. 1,300 crores, with some more than 1,000 years old. This is a good start, as many thousands of artifacts costing more than Rs. 200,000 crores (yes that much or more!). In reality, these old and rare pictures are priceless – we cannot even place a value on them. India has lost count, made worse by the fact that we don’t have any database to keep track of these.

US is pursuing needless provocation by putting India, China, Russia and others on the COPYRIGHTS SHAME LIST. Well in that case, India should celebrate being placed on these shame lists…

Bhumika Patel, a cashier in a US convenience store chased away a 17 year old while male robber who tried to rob her at gunpoint. Bhumika tried to snatch the gun from the robber and hit him with her own hand before chasing him out. Like so many other such cases, anything could have happened but fortunately nothing did. In her reaction, she is quoted to have said, “I just believe strongly in my religion and my God, if he wants to save me, nobody can touch me. That’s why I’m like no, I have my god everywhere with me and I know.” We wonder… shouldn’t she be the role model for others?
