Crorepati Mother Sells Chole-Kulche On Roadside
34 year highly educated former teacher, Ms. Urvashi Yadav decided to open a thela (wooden cart) to cook and serve chole-kulche and parantha in Gurgaon/Gurugram. Even though the family is well off with more than middle class assets, she decided on the thela venture to support her family after her husband’s second accident. She now earns nearly Rs. 3,000 each day while working from 8:00am to 4:30pm, which she says is adequate to provide future financial security for their two children, both of whom go to private schools. The stand has been a total hit, she has been featured in news media and Facebook, which in turn has led to an increase in her regular customers and fan following. Lots of women have approached her about taking up similar ventures.
