Mamata Govt Files FIR Against Reporters For Doing Their Job
In a direct attack on press freedoms and to threaten journalists, Mamata Banerjee Bengal government has filed FIR with non-bailable offence against reporters of ZEE news who were covering the December 13 riots in the Dhulagarh area of Bengal reportedly instigated by muslims argually from outside of that area. There was a method to this censorship as a team of MPs and MLAs was not allowed to enter this area. These actions seems to have intentionally gone unnoticed by a large section of the media and eminent media persons as part of their ‘selective outrage policy‘.
