Ms. Priyanka, An Indo-Japanese Wins Miss Japan And Gets Criticized Strongly
Priyanka Yoshikawa wins Miss World Japan and will represent Japan in the Miss World contest. As she is half Japanese (or haafu or the Japanese world for mixed race), being born to a Indian father and Japanese mother. Not surprisingly, several Japanese are upset and they want the pure Japanese to win. It is a fact that haafu girls (or those of mixed race) could not even win the Miss Japanese till two years ago. Priyank Yoshikawa was bullied in her younger days in high school by some classmates due to her skin color – but Priyanka refuses to talk about the severity of this.
