Somewhat Advanced Planes Production Will Move To India
The production of the US F-16 fighter jets, which are nearly 30+ years since first launch, will now move to India and Tata Advanced Systems will do the production, local service and upgrades to the planes. On the face of it, this older plane currently being flown by over 25 countries including our main enemy (Pakistan of course) – why would India be interested in this? But the learning, localization and future upgrades could substantially improve this plane. In the future, it is really upto Tatas and the entire Defense industry to improve the technology, bring the cost down and Indianize. That is when you get incredible and difficult to defeat competitive advantages.
