Initial reports said that the number of illegals identified in NRC exercise conducted was around 41 but WE APOLOGIZE TO OUR READERS – OUR ESTIMATES MAY HAVE BEEN WRONG…
New reports indicates that when you count Children and Families, the estimate for Assam alone could be 1 CRORE TO 1.5 CORES or 3 times the initial estimate. And when you count the illegals in West Bengal (if only they would allow for a reliable NRC exercise to be carried out ) and other states, the early estimates are very small. Clearly asking these illegals to leave or evicting them is going to be a major headache for the government…
