The Jharkhand government is planning to cancel the license of nearly 100 NGOs to receive foreign funds as they are involved in forced and illegal conversion. While only 100 will be effected at this time, several hundreds of christian organizations who claim to be providing social service are alleged to be using that as a front to force illegal conversions. This is going on actively in tribal areas in most states, and mainstream media is starting to report it. The situation in the north-eastern states is really dire as money and force is being used to convert people into Christianity and people are losing their native tribal customs and culture. Some north-eastern states are nearly 90+% christian, while others are over 40%. This is a insult to human dignity and should be stopped. In fact Mahatma Gandhi said to quote, “if he had the power to legislate, he would ban all conversions”. So now is the time to stop all conversions as the vast majority are illegal in nature.

Major sections of Christianity outside India do not regard Jesus as a Yogi, but instead as a fantasy or heresy. But here in India, there are active Christian evangelist and missionary groups who have make Jesus into a Yogi with a sole purpose of using as a weapon to convert Hindus. These groups say that you can gain everything spiritually by converting to Christianity and do not need the rest of Yoga. They quote Hindu gurus praising Jesus but not the other way round. Christians should first use the image of Christ as a yogi in Rome or a major Christian country or church before India! Otherwise, their actions are just plain dishonest. Also, let them honor Yoga and also the Hindu background of Yoga traditions and knowledge.

There are news reports that a Delhi based Believer’s Church, a Christian denomination with congregations and parishes worldwide, is collecting medicines, food packets and clothing to provide aid and relief for victims of the Kerala temple tragedy in Kollam. It certainly provides for good public relations. But… an emerging question is if the real motivation is something else – which is supplying such aid as inducements to victims in tragic circumstances to convert them to Christianity? Numerous independent studies have documented that large amounts of funds collected by Christian organisations is used for conversion. These acts include “soul harvesting” or “church planting” are to offset the declines in western countries. As we focus on things such as “Make in India”, why are the sufferings of a tribal man or villager in Kerala a concern of people in UK, USA, Germany or Denmark? Is it really Conversions when people are at their weakest and desperate?

The North East of India is totally ignored by all outside it. Reams of paper and liters of ink have been expended on the terrorists professing to work in the name of Islam and Christ. Church organisations and foreign NGOs have provided funding for several if not most banned militant and armed outfits in the north-east. Countries supporting these causes include Netherlands, Thailand, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, South Korea, Australia, England, Philippines, Sweden, Belgium, US and UK.

Orissa has a strong anti-conversion law, however it was not implemented. 2007 saw the explosive Kandhamal riots where Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati was murdered by accused Christians propagating forcible conversion of tribals and hindus to Christianity. In these riots several religious places were burnt and many people were displaced. In the just released 560 page jjudicialreport, while local tribals and hindus are involved in these riots, the blame is placed on missionaries and local churches for propagating proselytizing and evangelical conversion agenda to Christianity. The tribals and hindus have been tolerating such conversion for a long time, but these riots were driven by matters reaching an explosive point.
