The Opposition parties managed to stall yet another parliament session – which makes it the 12th straight session – and they blame the government for this. Only limited business could get done. However, now a few opposition MPs want to call a two week in a special session of parliament and they have written to the Vice President.
They want to discuss – important legislations and discussion on political issues of national importance AND restore the dignity of the Parliament.
IF ONE IS REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS, THEN WHY DID THE OPPOSITION STALL THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED PARLIAMENT SESSION?

The Sahitya Akademi Award, a national award, is totally apolitical. Many a time these awards have resulted in great fame and fortune for the awardees who otherwise were not well known. Now several awardees are doing political drama despite their questionable background and past associations. Nayantara Sahgal – Nehru’s niece had received her award from Rajiv Gandhi, even though he was in power during the gruesome 1984 Sikh pogrom or did not object when Kashmiri Pandits were exposed to violent crimes in the 1990s. Vikram Seth who has threatened to return the award even though he had no of receiving if from Jagdish Tytler, who is accused of being responsible for the 1984 pogrom.

CONGRESS CAUGHT IN ITS OWN TRAP – BECOMING IRRELEVANT EACH DAY. IS THIS START OF THEIR DOWNWARD CYCLE?
Most of the issues raised by Congress to crucify the Government, have fallen flat. Even the Sushma Swaraj-Lalit Modi case has no merit. The Congress and its allies have been cornered and left without a face-saver. Based on its own experience, the Congress must be thinking: How did the BJP Government not commit any blunders? Hurt and insulted, Congress has decided to focus on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. But if Ms. Sushma Swaraj gives Ms Swaraj a chance to speak, she will demolish the opposition’s arguments.

ICHR President says walking through Ayodhya feels like Ramayana times. It is not myth but concrete experience for me. So Ayodhya exists for those who believe in Ram and that he was born there and lived there. The President said, ‘We can convince our Muslim brethren, but the real problem is our Leftist historians who are not ready to accept the evidence (of existence of Ram Temple in Ayodhya).’
